Amid rumors, Jason Derulo continues to deny that cheating played a part in his recent split from former American Idol winner and fellow RB and pop singer Jordin Sparks, saying that women are “around” him all the time.
Speaking in an interview on New York-based iHeartRadio hip-hop and RB radio station Power 105.1 FM on Wednesday, Derulo, who is about to go on tour, also revealed that the breakup conversation took place over the phone, reiterated that pressure to wed and frequent arguments played a part in the split and also did not rule out the possibility of reconciling.
“Did you cheat?” asked DJ Envy.
“Nah, man,” Derulo replied. “Nah, man there was none of that. I mean, we had our problems in our relationship, you know what I’m saying? Every relationship has their ups and downs and you know, when you start having more downs than ups, you know, you gotta take a look at your relationship and be like, you know, ‘Is this something that I’m supposed to be doing…?'”

Sparks, who is also an actress and is promoting her role in the Left Behind movie reboot, appeared on The Wendy Williams Show in an episode that also aired on Wednesday. The host asked her about cheating rumors and if Derulo was unfaithful to her.
“I actually don’t want to comment on that,” she said.
During the Power 105.1 FM interview, Derulo was asked about online photos showing him with other women.
“You’re gonna always see pictures of me with other women but you can’t…you can’t put that woman in my bed just ’cause she has her hand on my shoulder, you know what I’m saying?” he said. “Like, women are around me all the time and women, like, grab [ahold of] me all the time. You could literally snap a picture at any given moment and it could look crazy.”
Derulo said he and Sparks had argued a lot before their breakup and that “there was a lot of pressure from the marriage perspective,” despite having staged a fake proposal to Sparks in his music video “Marry Me,” echoing similar comments he made in a candid interview on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show earlier this week. He got even more personal with 105.1 FM.
“It wasn’t a problem in that area at all,” Derulo said, in response to a joke about his and Spark’s sex life.
“Sex life was fine,” DJ Angela Yee asked.
“Yeah,” he replied.
E! News reported exclusively about their split last week. Derulo, 25, and Sparks, 24, had been together for about three years. On Power 105.1 FM, Derulo said he broke up with the singer “over the phone,” adding, “I wasn’t in town.”
He said he and Sparks no longer speak and that he went and retrieved his stuff from the house they lived in together, which she owns. He did leave something behind—a BMW 7 sedan he gave her for Christmas in 2013. New ones retail for about $75,000.
“You think I should’ve [gone to] get the car that I got her?” he asked, then said, “No, I wouldn’t take the car back.”
“He can have it,” Sparks said on The Wendy Williams Show.
Derulo said he still loves the singer and checks up on her…online.
“So, um, you know, you wanna remain friends but man, that’s hard, that’s hard, that’s hard,” he said. “You know, like, I catch myself like, looking at her Instagram and seeing what she’s doing and stuff…’cause I love her. You know what I’m saying? Like, I love her. You just don’t fall out of love with somebody like that.”
Derulo was also asked if he is currently dating anybody new. He laughed and said “I’m not anywhere near that space.”
He was then asked how he would react if Sparks dated someone else. On The Wendy Williams Show, the host told the singer she now had to chance to get to know herself more and “date around,” to which she responded, “I’m excited.”
“I dunno if I can curse, but man, that would, that would like, kill me,” Derulo said.
So are Derulo and Sparks over for good? When Yee stated that the two may get back together, Derulo responded, “Yeah, maybe. Nah, seriously.”
