American chipmaker Intel has announced plans to invest $4.6 billion in building a state-of-the-art semiconductor assembly and test facility near the city of Wrocław in southwestern Poland.

This marks the largest foreign investment in Polish history, according to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

The project is expected to generate 2,000 new jobs and strengthen technological development in Poland. Morawiecki emphasized the significance of Poland becoming a key part of the high-tech supply chain and highlighted the positive impact on transatlantic cooperation. Intel's new plant will contribute to the close ties between Poland and the United States across various sectors, including security cooperation.

The facility will employ 2,000 workers, with additional job opportunities during the construction phase and for suppliers.
