Since the tragic killing of French teacher Dominique Bernard on October 13th, there has been a concerning surge in fake bomb threats across France, targeting airports, schools, and

museums. According to recent data from the Justice Ministry, there have been 64 investigations opened following Bernard's murder.

These malicious calls and emails, while not new, have added to the prevailing atmosphere of unease. Due to the current geopolitical and security context, authorities and targeted institutions are responding with frequent evacuations, unintentionally bringing more attention to the issue.

This heightened response has created a snowball effect, with one false alarm often triggering a series of evacuations. The transportation and education sectors have been particularly affected, making it challenging to compile accurate data on the situation. Photo by Rama, Wikimedia commons.
