Prince Christian of Denmark, who holds the position of second in line to the Danish throne, is set to commemorate his 18th birthday in a grand manner.

The Danish Royal Court has recently announced that the prince, turning 18 on October 15th, 2023, will observe this significant milestone through a series of symbolic events.

On the morning of his attainment of legal adulthood, Prince Christian will make a balcony appearance alongside his family. Positioned on the balcony of Frederik VIII’s Palace in Copenhagen, he will stand with his parents, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, along with his grandmother, Queen Margrethe II. His siblings, Princess Isabella, 16, and the 12-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, are also anticipated to join in.

Later in the evening, Queen Margrethe will host an exclusive gala dinner at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen in honor of her grandson's coming of age. Among the guests will be members of various youth organizations, alongside young individuals from across Denmark who have distinguished themselves in the fields of sports, art, and culture. Additionally, young representatives from every corner of Denmark, as well as Greenland and the Faroe Islands, will be extended invitations.

In November, the celebratory events for Prince Christian will persist. On November 14th, 2023, he will participate in a Council of State gathering, where he will solemnly declare his commitment to uphold the country's constitution. Following this declaration, Prince Christian will be authorized to assume the role of Head of State should circumstances necessitate.

Accompanying the revelation of his birthday celebration details, new portraits of the prince have also been unveiled.
