Minister of Interior Mariusz Kaminski announced on Sunday that Poland will be deploying 500 police officers to its border with Belarus.
The Polish Border Guard reported on Sunday that 187 individuals attempted to illegally cross into Poland from Belarus on Saturday.
In a Twitter statement, Kaminski stated, "Due to the tense situation on the border with Belarus, I have decided to reinforce our forces with 500 Polish police officers from preventive and counter-terrorism units."
